@IvanT Is what Solmetra was asking supposed to be "woman with the same face" or "man with the same face"?

Because previous chapter it was her father who left to go find evidence of other Japanese wasn't it?
There was no indication that her mother left.
@SunSun Here the Japanese line "同じ顔の女を 知りませんか?" and "女" is woman/female
Edit: roughly to romanji is "Onaji kao no onna o shirimasen ka?"

I think I'm good. I'll just drop it here...

I feel like this should've ended at the marriage chapter, the story felt going w/o direction afterwards, not even a good victory lap/afterstory. Plus, seeing some of his slaves who I thought they were potential harem members being melancholic/sad over the lack of interactions with MC in the last chapter kinda put a bad taste in my mouth. Not that I dislike the choice of main heroine here, an Oneesan as the main heroine? hell yeah! But it definitely felt like it could've gone harem with 4 main slaves, or, like I said earlier, ending it on the marriage chapter would've been better. I'll just pretend it was completed and move on.

Thanks for the translators' work! See ya elsewhere everyone

Story is kind of weird. Also yeah this is just the first part so it's unclear. The story is actually about Solmetra but the manga viewpoint from the brother is too strong. I don't even remember who's Solmetra at first.

In the novel the pace is slower and easier to follow. And this side story doesn't have much impact so don't think too much about where this is going.

So this work is more of a world building story. We're kind of in the middle in the story right now, and the author wrote a lot of side stories to support the main story.

In terms of the webnovel, we're at chapter 58 and it ends at 110.

It's very slice of life and there's no huge conflicts or plans or machinations.

If you're looking for groundbreaking or huge plot, this isn't it.

I don't get it. Why is he hating himself for caring for his sister and why did glasses girl ask if it's an ok thing to search for his sister?
Due to poverty, I believe, he becomes disconnected and desensitized to the situations around him. This usually happens as a defense mechanism. Note that the disbelief in people, the surprise at actually being helped and cared for. All of this indicates, to me, that "normal" for him is far from these things.

The girl's question makes sense to me, because they live in a world where people are commodities (too), so one deduction that the secretary reached, I believe, is that he sold his sister and is creating an alibi.

I'm so lost... can someone explain to me what's going on, and why it seems like this jumped to a completely different story?
What is this sudden story shift to random people?
Umm did she really scaped or it's just dude is having a mental breakdown and people are play along with him?
Did he sell his sister?
Did he eat her?
Maybe he was drunk and killed her?
Maybe he was having a mental breakdown and the sister was just imaginary?
Did her sister work too without her brother know about it? Or just her rebellious phase n go by herself cz her brother didnt wake up until noon?
?.?...

Did Solmetra ability a faceshifter or illusion magic?
?.?...
Solmetra asking about a woman with the "same face" might be asking for news about her mother.

Which is strange because previous chapter, her father is the one who left on a caravan.

I laughing really hard reading this entire tread. It's seams some pitiful souls need saving.
Remember who majority of his slaves, that right spoiled goods. She was part of set twins but in her case her face was damaged so they were sold separately. By asking this question from every new arrival she hoping to find any news about her sister.
Is just kid being kid. She was so excited to finally be able go outside so she unable to wait until her brother will wake up. No other deep or hidden meanings here.
Don't remember that one. Probably new spin on events by the mangaka.
All events better explained in a novel format Ch 58(separated in five parts), and some in the second part of this chapter (it's probably would be easier if @IvanT properly numbered this chapter as 20.1).

For the sudden POV change it was like this from the beginning. No surprise there. This manga fall in the similar pitfall like "OnePunchMan"(it's a stretch i know) there is limited amount of thing you can do with MC. So you compensated this by sub cast. MC does something and we can see how world react to it, changes with his actions, from perspectives we never will see if we stick together to MC or his immediate surroundings. This is why i fall in love with "Death March" (novel) back in the day, not because Satou aka 'Gary Sue' can solve every problem in existence but because how out of touch he is and how everyone react and deal with his solutions and antics.

Anyway look forward to resolution. He will be appearing, briefly, in other chapter later on. :02:

My guess is that the publisher decided to split a chapter poorly in the middle of some flashback, and we will get the explanation next chapter.
Likely something like "do you not really want to get rid of her?" and him agreeing internally for a moment, or even externally.

Translator having health issue.
Yes? That comment was about 20.1, while this is chapter 20.
If you were trying to imply it is the translator that split a chapter, then iirc I can refer you to some rule about how translators are not being allowed to split chapters further than the publishers did (but they are allowed to merge split chapters into one - thankfully).

Actually it was split into 6 parts
The one the translator released is part 1-3
