Actually I think there would be a good market for increasing the value of slaves. If a master would take care and teach new skills to their slaves they would make significant profit from reselling. Abusing slaves is a net loss over all.

That's not how slavery works, this manga has already stated that in world there are three types of slaves: sex, labor and domestic. Sex slaves do not go up in value after use, they may get better at sex but age is an important part of the market value and it goes down with time, and if you're going to buy a girl, why would you buy literal used goods? Training her yourself would be part of the fun. If you wanted experience prostitutes exist, go to one of those. Labor slaves are not for complex tasks, they do repetitive labor inductive tasks like moving resources, simple farm work, things like that. You don't teach the laborers skills, you teach craftsman skills, but slaves wouldn't be involved in that business at all because those tasks are more complex and it's more valuable to hire and train someone then it is to give it to a piece of property, usually a son in this setting though guilds are also a thing. Last is domestic, all tasks done are simple repetitive not labor inductive tasks, anybody can do these tasks, they just get slaves to do them because they're boring and take no skill.

Slavery in the LN and Manga worlds are more fetish than function. People who took slaves for something leisurely like sex/domestic labour would be very well off as the leisure class were a huge minority through most of history prior to the industrial revolution, even craftsmen would have difficulties gathering enough income to buy slaves to free their time from domestic labours. While the history and use of slaves is quite diverse and there were a wide range of uses and treatment of them the setting we get in this manga is a Frankenstein mix of tropes and fetishes.

Somehow, there is enough abundance of production and resources to supply a large social class we would expect from a more developed nation that is also deeply entrenched in a more primitive situation. Like a transplantation of the modern into the past.

To be honest, I do not dislike that awkward setting, though jarring at times the author often uses this within the story to deliver amusing moments like the MC's abuse of his skills. But the slavery stuff is done more as fetish and keeps hitting my pet peeve. =\

They may be based more on fetish than function but your argument that you could train a slave to sell it for a higher price is not supported by any historic evidence whatsoever, at least in the case of chattel slavery which this very obviously is. You are trying to argue that in this fantasy setting where the economics are already vague and outlandish that the prices for slaves and principles applying to them should be even more outlandish than that. In fact, most historians agree that slave population retard skill and technological growth because slaves being so cheap it's better to have them working on simple dull repetitive tasks rather than improve the process of the task.
