I feel bad for everyone else working for that bank. If the MC pulls out and it goes public the whole bank could be doomed.
Dad is way too full of himself. Misusing and disclosing customer info, attempted blackmail and threatening to illegally freeze assets. In no world does this go how he thinks, even against a normal person.

All that said, I'm kind of hoping the father is just being misunderstood, and coming on too strong, in an attempt to just help his son. He seems to be legitimately encouraging his son, and pushing him forward in pursuing his goals, despite not really getting it, so it would be cool if he just properly asked MC to help his son rather than trying to strong-arm the MC.
I'm not sure how you could take "I could shutdown DTJC anytime I wanted to." As him being misunderstood.

Why is he acting like a big shot when he's just a branch manager? Sure, he has some control over his employees, but he can't do jack without permission from the company (which includes the standing orders in their policy that let's him manage without being handheld.) May have the ability to cause problems for others to get his way, but not the authority, which will quickly bite him in the back if he's not extremely careful.
There's plenty of people who act as tyrants with even a little bit of power. The HOA president, or the Karen at HR.

That new cover! I love a good triadic color scheme.

My read on the bank manager is that he didn't get his position by being good at banking. He's a simp, who flattered his way to management while bullying those under him. Just like he's coddling his failson. Why else would he try such a hair-brained scheme like threatening one of his largest account holders?
It's likely a combo of Nepotism and Seniority, in Japan office culture means white collar work is more judged on time spent than individual effort or merit. The people who have been with a company longer are given preferential treatment regardless of their actual skill level and nepotism is also a big enough issue that various means of getting on the Boss' goodside outside of work (drinking parties, smoke breaks, etc) are commonly seen as useful workplace skills for the office jocky.
Tf did the son mean the MC stole his idea? It was literally popular with influencers lately. He literally said it in his own video (the son's) that other streamers are trying it recently so he stole it too. 🤦
Yup, that tends to be how these idiots think. It's the "Your idea? No, MY Idea." meme.
He doesn't seem to really know who the MC is, it appears he only just found out he's a streamer but has no idea how big a streamer, and more importantly what his relation to dungeons and other institutions are. He think's he's dealing with the equivalent of some somewhat popular twitch streamer or youtuber.
You know that's a good point, dude probably thinks he's dealing with just a more popular version of his pathetic son. Like I don't think he'd even grasp the concept of a powerful stream in the mundane sense, like fucking Pewdiepie or Mister Beast who'd have the monetary ability to probably sue his ass into the ground and the social weight that just the knowledge someone is fucking with him will cause everyone to know what's happening and gang up on his ass out of seemingly nowhere like he stole an old man's lego collection.

There's a difference between Authority and Ability, especially in a country like Japan where a lot of this sort of stuff relies on actual physical paperwork, stamps, and the good old fashioned honor system. Dude probably has the ability to just straight up delete someone's account if it was created at his branch, it'd be fucking stupid and easily discovered if someone cared to look but he probably could and if he's thorough enough it'd likely cause irreparable damage even if recovered. Locking an account? That's as easy as just chucking someone a form saying he found fraudulent or suspicious activity in an account. Hell, he's probably the one that okay's that shit going through when it legit happens and an underling tells him some account is being used to launder money. And if he's caught, he likely thinks no one high enough up the chain to actually do shit to him would care about fucking with some random streamer, and if they did they'd care more about saving face and refuse to admit anything underhanded happened.
Dude, Japan isn't unique. This shit happens everywhere. Ask what the banks did to everyone who didn't buy the Covid narrative in 2021.
Actually Japan is kind of unique in their banking system and it's a really convoluted mess on it's own that gets more stupid when you add Japanese office culture into the mix. There's actually a whole ass isekai manga about some chick going back in time and trying to sort out some of it's bullshit to stop a financial collapse that explains a bunch of it's weird esoteric methods.

---

But yeah. I'm wondering what's going through the MC's head. Sure he doesn't have his financial advisor on hand but he's already handled some politically dicey stuff on his own and probably doesn't actually care that much about the account in and of itself. He doesn't even need it for everyday things since he still had all that money he got from the thugs that tried to rob him in the first couple chapters stored either in cash in his inventory or in the same separate account he has his inheritance in.

So to the MC this old guy who has access to some of his money just scammed his way into a meeting, is acting like an asshole in general, is threatening him with something seriously illegal that the MC doesn't actually care that much about because of his personal circumstances, and doing this for the incredibly stupid and probably easy to accomplish favor of just filming a video with his son. All of this he does to someone who can very easily destroy him in ways that should be incredibly obvious to him (social, legal, and just plain physical) and ways that only the MC knows (hypnotism mindfuckery or calling in favors from heads of states). To him it has to look like some mother fucker breaking into Asmongold's house, standing there in front of a Great Unclean One and an army of Skaven, holding a pistol, and saying he'll shoot unless Asmon sends a raid to his 2 view hottub stream ooshi.

Seriously, the MC doesn't really have anything to actually worry about and is probably mostly just annoyed by the attitude and affronted by the brazen threat. Maybe he'd wonder if this would be the sort of annoying BS that just doing the incredibly simple request to stop it may just be worth it as a very easy solution or if it's worth the effort to crush the guy for pissing him off. Like, even ignoring his financial clout, social clout, political backing, and the use of physical violence to fuck this guy over with some effort or dealing with annoying consequences afterward he could also just hypnotize this guy into killing himself. He's done it before, it wouldn't really even be that much different from when he told the thugs trying to mug him in his house in the first couple chapters to bankrupt themselves and turn themselves into the police or when he just got those ministry plants to wander into a dungeon unarmed. Even if he didn't want to opt for murder he could just go "You never saw me, get the fuck out of my house. Also quite your job you clearly don't deserve it."

Because this chapter makes it look like he's the type of guy who would strong arm others to get what he wants, whereas I'm hoping this is extremely out of character for him and he's doing this explicitly because he loves his son, who seems to be going through a rough patch, and is trying to help him the only way he feels he possibly can.
So his method is still the same, but his intentions are what's being misunderstood -- or so I hope anyway.

Hell no, what he's doing is absolutely illegal and he WILL rightfully lose his job.
It is absolutely not Okay under any circumstances other than proper legal investigations to leak customers information for a bank, he's gonna cost millions to his bosses, people will loose confidence in the bank because of it.
Calm down guys, it's just a comic, he isn't an actual real world bank manager threatening people's assets. I'm not condoning what he's doing, it's just I'm hoping there's more to his character than a sleazy villainous power tripping bank guy.

I love how the MC answers to this prick of a "branch manager", basically: "What, you're important? Well, anyway, I don't care, so just fuck off."

That's exactly how you have to deal with this kind of self-adulating narcissists.

I'm pretty sure he could call miss Kijima and have her join the conversation live. She is her manager, she legally has the right to know what is going on.
This. Wtf is this nitwit mc doing this himself when he's hired that lady FOR A REASON.

Lets say nobody stopped the bank idiot from doing that (that the freeze is indeed fully implemented), how would that even do anything to MC anyways? Its not like he's living on investment cycles, he's actively bringing in tons of money every day; he simply routes that new money to anywhere else. He's still living in that boring regular house, and he teleports to travel, he has basically zero expenses; the ramen he bought this chapter was basically the general idea of his spendings. He could basically live on pocket money.
