And since she's allowed to work (and likely live) there now, I think it's fine with enough pre-planning and...well, not this.

Just remember the fox really don't want Nanami to stay in isekai, so what was the point of connecting the two worlds then? I thought most divine entity in these story always plan to let them mingle for some plot point (like balancing mana or something) but this one really won't let that happen

I wouldn't call that one 'stranded'

He is stranded, he can't get back to Japan under his own power or through the Tengu's gate. He only decided to stay in that world because the only family he has left is his wife and kids.

It's the other way around.

He lost access to Tengu's gate BECAUSE he got a kid (well, when his wife got pregnant)

So the decision to settle down/get married came first.
He was always planning to stay, even his visit to Nobu was for one last trip to say his farewells.
