...don't let Brantano's wife hear about trading card games
Let her know about YU GI OH. :chad:

And good lard, the food looks exceptionally good. But I had doubt on noodle based okonomoyaki will retain its shape and not become a sad sight, gloopy mess. :nyoron:

How is the wife playing Karuta in Aetheria? Did a previous Japanese isekai person spread it? Or is it one of those things where it's like "Somehow coincidentally similar" like how the wife's backstory is based on Princess Kaguya?

If you read some of the recent ish chapters of Izakaya Gen (or its been a few months based on my memory), you can see that some possibly tales from Japanese mythology has been spread from an older time. So its quite possible that people who connected to the world has also spread things that weren’t just delicious food.

Edit: Chapter I was referring to was Ch78 “Mystery of “Temple Fry””

I know, that's why I said what I said.
It could be directly an isekai Japanese who brought it because I do read Gen, and I know there's many other isekai food stores. However, sometime these "Japanese-like stuff" are just somehow already there in Aetheria by utter coincidence.

Like the story of the previous emperor wanting a super thick salmon skin, that was also a Japanese legend, but it wasn't treated as such. It was just coincidence. Same with the wife's suitor selection being similar to Kaguya. It just happened to be like that.

My theory is that she's literally Kaguya. Not impossible considering gods and spirits do exist in Aetheria. Or at the very least, a descendant.

I agree with her literally being Kaguya—why else would there be tropics loving bamboo growing in a European forest, if not for Kaguya to land in? (Though according to the Köppen climate chart, Germany/Aitheria would be a subtropical climate and bamboo would happily grow there!)

How stingy with the seaweed and bonito flakes! I usually cover the whole thing with it, lol. But then I usually use way less okonomiyaki and mayo as well.

I love how Branton went from being a bit arrogant and demanding in his first appearance to happily sharing food with Efa and telling her stories.
