Just assume that any Japanese words that don't have a good English or European equivalent (e.g. 'sushi') are transliterated the way they sound (and into the corresponding language), while any Japanese words that do have good equivalents are auto-translated into the language of another world.
Frankly, this is the main headcanon I have for interdimensional or even just global settings where people somehow understand each other, including the worldplay.
