Ah, so Snæffels is Scandinavia. Rather obvious with the æ letter, but still. Brünhilde is also one of the named valkyries in Der Ring das Nibelungen, a German epic about the Norse pantheon, with Brünhilde and her sisters having their own part. That said, should Ursula really be travelling without at least one companion? I get she's skilled, but a friend or trainee would make her journey a lot smoother. Oh well, I'm not the author, and this is a very enjoyable story, so I shouldn't impose.
