Jawhand? Never heard that term before.
I've only ever heard of it being called a backscratcher.
And googles doesn't pull anything like a backscratcher up if you type in 'jawhand'. Just a bunch of pliar-like tools.

Agree with the back-scratcher translation as being easier to understand, but other than that the translation was great! Thanks for also including the extra clarification of soul vs blood in the earlier chapters.

At least he has some backbone. Most people that work on black companies are pushovers.

Is kendo viable...these mangas love using kendo but is it really that good for actual combat and why not kenjutsu rather than kendo or are they the same thing

I am honestly curious.

@kripsy No way it is. Kendo trains you to never use any actual dangerous moves, and to move in a single line. Therefore you can't hurt your opponent, you can't dodge.
So in a real situation, good fucking luck. :D
But well, japan authors, it's like rice and baths.

Of course, it is not viable. It is just all the MC knows, as he doesn't have some "special grandpa who happened to teach him lethal martial arts" so it is the base of his fighting style.
The issue is of course if he fails to adapt his fighting style - there will be glaring weaknesses in his style due to the rules of kendo which prohibit certain movements and only consider certain situations - then that would be a failure of the story.
Unless the author is really into sword fighting it's unlikely to be realistic in any case; you'll just have to overlook it.

"He's clearly provoking me, I can't walk away" - why not? What's stopping you?
