There's gonna be different reaction between if you're an aggressive tyrant vs someone who approach with diplomacy first.
He doesn't want to unite the place with constant bloody war, he want to use diplomacy route first/if possible (see the case with Exus tribe)

That's why he shifted Yuria's words from being interpreted as 'let's take over this place' (possible invasion) to 'hey I'd love to buy fish from here regularly' (trade)

I kinda wanted to see Almus a bit more tired before his trip. The story showed how many domestic and other things he has to deal with in a system where all final decision is (mostly, cause laws probably need others to buy in as well) in his hands, yet he still looks peppy and energetic regardless. Maybe it’s youth….

Yeah, some industries don't benefit the common people significantly. Just makes the rich people richer. However, if it gives common people jobs that pay well enough, it can help a lot.

With drugs, if there's production of them somewhere, it will spread, so she's right in that making it restricted in their kingdom might not be enough to prevent people from abusing it. It also runs the risk of creating a lucrative market for underground organisations. A simple example is how the alcohol prohibition basically gave the mafia room to grow. Probably a good idea to ensure proper information to the public so they're more aware of the dangers. Won't stop it, but it'll help.

The simple fact that they talked about drugs in a reasonable manner is already surprising, it would be more surprising if they didn't get something wrong.

If there's two things japanese absolutely hate are guns and drugs, so it's kinds of ultra rare you'll ever see any story defending either, much less giving actual proper facts since they don't matter, cause drug are bad mkay?

While you do need a lot of heat to extract salt from seawater... luckily there is a very warm object there called "the sun".
It is why seaside settlements usually draw a bunch of water into some basin and just leaves it there for a couple days. As it evaporates it first becomes brine, and then and it goes even further salt (Etc. But mostly salt) starts settling at the bottom until all you have left are solids.

So I have no clue what mc was on about - unless maybe he had been in a colder region? But even then, those usually got some industry for warm summers.

remember he has the blessing of the king, he has a vast amount of loyal followers, that's why he's okay... remember that other guy that had the same blessing even when he was a coward or was getting pressed by all the f*cks up of his followers he still was strong af in the fight against Almus, and when he lost he friggin explode.
