@versub Even if the slave lost "nothing", the commander won his respect, and likely the respect of the other riders. Assume for the moment the slave wasn't lying about respecting strength. He looks too dumb to think up of a good lie.

Besides, it ALSO is a demonstration that the commander is a: willing to risk losing a slave and thus is potentially willing to free them, and b: he's just that strong. Don't think he isn't.

@Red225 Yeah, they couldn't really lose. He wins. That guy would probably listen by the way he acted and Rosewald would have demonstrated his skills to everyone. He loses, they free him and prove that they are truly willing to keep their word and free the slaves.

I’m really waiting for the large scale battle tactics to come through. I picked up the manga cuz I enjoyed seeing some of the inventions and learning about them. Recently it’s been a lot more drama and plot. Which is good! However not why I picked up reading this.

Roseward was too soft with this. He, as a master, should have more fraitening look and attitude towards his slaves, so these slaves will fear him and knowing that he is a real deal and not a person to playing around with.
