I'm surprised it's lasting this long really, it's still some ways through, but we are reaching the end of the 1st half of the story.

But I wonder how the manga will handle the biggest change it did with the story.

Sao in the manga has been shown to be found by his adopted mother Machette, but in the webnovel, she is his real mother, and Calipa his real blood sister, however, they have different fathers.

Spoiler: Machette's past

She used to be a warrior from a Kingdom, but they were conquered by said Tiger Empire and their citizens turned into slaves. Machette would be used by random soldiers, and Calipa's father is among those.

Later Machette was offered to the King as among the great warriors among the slaves.
The Emperor only cares about strength, he wants to create the strongest children with the best Jobs, if they are born with weak jobs, they are cast away.

The Emperor slept with Machette, but was annoyed by the baby Calipa who had no good job and planned to kill her, that night Machette was able to escape to save her daughter, ran far away and reached a random village in the neighbor empire. Later she found out she was pregnant with Sao.

So in the webnovel, Calipa is not his only sister, he has many siblings on his father's side, and Angie there, considering she is a Princess, is technically one of his sisters too.

I actually liked that this series became serious and dark for a bit, it made the world building alot more interesting and not all sunshine and rainbows with seggs/comedy

It also shows the author can go beyond the funny seggs stuff and write somewhat decent
