Easily the worst girl out if his harems. I hope she got character's development soon in the LN.

On magic

Yeah, the local magic pretty much calls for power from some external elementally-aligned force connected to their Goddess, which allows mundane fireballs and junk to actually hurt demons through their demon god buff. A lot of the functions of the Elements are predefined and automated too, so the research mostly goes into applying it to demon-killing and with it being so effective with minimal (compared to earth magic) study it's kind of just stuck in a rut. But compared to Earth's level the magic is by no means optimized for cost effectiveness, its physical affects are disappointing, there's no additional curses or explicitly supernatural effects, it can't really do anything too far outside elemental effects...the problems go on.

Compared to Earth magicians, it's like getting better at using a program and straight up going into the code and messing with it until it does what you want it to. Though it's not like Element-based spells in this world can't be modified at all, just that nobody looks into how to do it to significant degrees. When Felmenia's white flames are considered a genius breakthrough you know the kind of level you're looking at.
Suimei's organization also kind of stands out among magicians with a divisive reputation among the more traditional magicians, as they're not afraid to basically cannibalize systems and put multiple things together into one spell in the name of efficiency and streamlining. A lot of Suimei's lineup mixes kabbalah numerology with other things like astrology or various divine powers.

After two months we get:

"It's demons! I'ma kill em."
"By yourself?"
"Yup."
"Oh."

@natchu96 you mean to say that
basically suimei's spells are so modded you could compare it to an ultra-modded skyrim, right? and that comparatively speaking, the local magic is so vanilla it hurts

@Radlife @CoolOtamegane @Gotim18 No Problem, I'm glad you liked it.

The LN is quite fine, it is a kind of parody of the isekai genre, since the MC is someone using logic and plans ahead, and actually, most of the time anyway, behaves like any scientist with management experience would if he or she got stranded in such a world. Add to that the snarky comments and the incredible contrast between him and the CHUUNI pandemic every other character suffers (this, surprisingly HAS an actual explanation!). The MC pretty much feels like he's facepalming at how people behave and think in this alternate world, to the point even Felmenia is trated like some kind of goofer (she gets treated, together with other female characters). Alas, the author sometimes falls into his own trap and the MC behaves like a chuuni in very spectacular ways.

(you might want to skip ahead, but this is one of the main reasons I believe this LN to be enjoyable)
Also, the author falls into some other traps of his, like the absurd verbosity of these otherworlders, it gets spread onto the explanations of stupidly annoying repetitions of spell compositions, system origins, etc. even within the very sentences themselves, which makes reading some of those segments very annoying. Overall, though, it adds a layer of additional complexity to the overall feel of the novel, but if LNs could be classified by verosimility of the magic systems (not just isekais), I'd say this one is a level 3, with the most plannar ones having a level 1 (most of the LNs); I'd say the Nasuverse has a level 4, and even if some might want to lynch me, the LOTR would be between a 3 and a 4 (this is mostly because the Sigmalirion and other derivative works aren't written correctly and are simply mashups of Tolkien's ideas, but they are where the origins of the lore and magic are explained). I have yet to find a level 5 nor anything that comes close to it (again, in terms of fantasy/magic). What I believe that gives enough points to be a 4 is the overall origin and lore for the different pieces of the series. A level 5... I have no idea what it would require for something to qualify as one.

Overall, I believe it is worth your time, just take it as the MC having a vacation in this backwaters world, until some other stuff crops up (going back home, finding surprising things, etc.)

Also, @CoolOtamegane
Mahouka is something else, they are completely different in their approach to magic. In Mahouka they treat magic as a new type of energy-like substance that can be used to alter the laws of physics in confined spaces, which can then affect the world in more interesting ways (shooting a laser beam for example, is not some magic that shoots a laser beam, but magic that causes light to compress and is then shot. In a way, it's like all of Mahouka is using Accelerator's ESP power as magic in very different and interesting ways).

I still find it funny that Suimei claimed that
he was just the middleground magician but in reality he should be one of the higherground magicians but he didn't seem perceive that because his acquaintances were all topgroup magicians.
Also the fact that he
also had harem members in the original world and we knew that latter after Reiji and Mizuki mentioned that is somehow funny in its way since he envied about Reiji's popularity.
I don't read Mahouka, but in this lore,
mana is treated like some exergy that would change to entropy if you use it. So I don't it's not really different from Mahouka by your definition of their magic. Then again the main different between this and mahoukoukosei is that in this original world, magic is still treated as a heresy while in mahoukoukosei, magic isn't treated like that.

@siscon The chunii level of this this author is so high maybe more than Nasu from Fate/ series, it so complicated make it tedious to read. Magic in Mahouka looks complicated but still easy to understand becaused based on physic science.

@Wolvenworks yeah...
modded Skyrim works I guess. Though it's modded to the point that you're basically playing other games entirely while inside Skyrim...

Mahouka being all physics-interference-like and extremely exposition-heavy is kind of why I think it makes for bad anime tbh. An animated medium isn't really suited for long stretches of talking. But it's good reading if you're into that sort of thing and don't mind the main character.

@woodrabbit Yeah, I don't disagree with that. Still, the world building is kinda well written, so I kinda like it.

That long shirt hem makes it look like he's a short-haired girl with a short skirt over black leggings from far away...

ENRAIHA!

Kaze no Stigma, how nostalgic. Looks like it was copied or possibly partially traced.
