Guys I know everyone is saying "attempted rape" and it did look like it was only that "attempted" but the MTL was so bad that I have to ask to be sure: are we sure he didn't manage to seal, the deal and rape her before our main protagonist rapist teleported to them? Seriously speaking, it's mostly about presentation.
The MC, as he is depicted in the story, is presented as a cool badass gigachad wizard who totally deserves to control all those women.
The noble meanwhile, is depicted as a loser who needs help to get one female.
It's mostly about the tonal whiplash of putting a generic rapist antagonist against a rapist protagonist, because the entire point, even if it is a rather shallow one, is to show that the antagonist is bad because he is a rapist. That one falls flat entirely because the protagonist has done that all along.

It's a case of serious reader projection, though. The MC is never presented as someone doing any good. Be it his actions or his thoughts, none are good in any way. If you think being presented as a protagonist is equivalent to being presented as the good guy, you indeed need to be careful about what you read. But it stops there, it's a severe and continuous issue with the reader.
