Why do some translators feel the need to insert their own silly comments? It completely takes one out of any immersion in the story they're reading. What a rookie maneuver. Additionally, the typesetter needs to properly use syllabic breaks.

Aside from that, I'm noticing that the artist has trouble with correct body and object proportions; pages 10 & 14 are wtf?

Holy fuck, grow some balls already. Stop their 'no, Im his master' act, they are both your slaves and the chokers show that much (so both summoned him together). Make them act as slaves dude, stop being an embarassment.

Guess thats what happens when you have beta MCs.

@ShionSinX: I get where you're coming from, man, but two things:
1) This will die away to obscurity as the series develops. I forget when. Reason being is that Rem and Shera go through some crap and befriend each other and change it to having a small rivalry over Diablo's affections instead. So really, worrying about this is small.
2) The MC's true personality might be beta (which doesn't exist for humanity, by the way. Such primal thoughts don't work because of how far we advanced and evolved. Literally as worthless as saying the stars and the zodiac are what decide our destinies), but don't forget that his Demon King personality is seriously aggressive to the point the other-worlders fear/hate him, making him anything but beta. Also, he wants to protect their honor and being outed as slaves would do just the opposite, so he's using a middle ground instead.

Not trying to be a dick, just trying to clear the air.

@TwilightFaze I kept reading as you said it would tone down and while it took quite some time, as least its not unbearable anymore. They could use some clothing to hide the chokers as well, its not that hard.

And yes, there are alphas and beta humans, just not 1:1 how it goes for other animals (a beta dude can get a girl, and shes probably will be the alpha of the relationship...).

@ShionSinX: I dunno, I guess it's artistic preference when it comes to the chokers. Half the time I forget they're even there when reading it. I don't see them hiding their necks unless they reach a snowy country or something. That's just me, though.

And no, that's not alpha/beta. That's a perception and one I don't blame you (or anyone else) for thinking. Your example was also excellent (appreciated too since most people use insults, not intelligence). But the reality is that all humans have an aspect (for lack of a better word) where they are "beta" and an aspect where they are "alpha." To be one or the other in animal terms refers not to their personality, as many confuse, but to their nature. You know how you hear stories of a businessman who's very assertive at work (ie, alpha) but submissive at home (ie beta)? Those are such aspects. Yeah, it's real 1950's of me to use that as an example, but it's the easiest one to explain.

@TwilightFaze its about instinct, all animals have it. In humans its heavily toned down and doesnt serves the very same way it does for others (where usually ONLY the alpha gets the females on the pack), but its still there. Its subtle but not inexistent.

And when toned up by the piece of fiction (like here on mangas) it gets annoying really fast.

@ShionSinX We'll have to agree to disagree on this point. My personal experience with other people (face to face, not these net macho-meatheads) tell a different story, but it's clear your experiences are just as different. Not my place to say you're right or wrong.

As for the manga aspect, I think that's also subjective. Depending on the character, it comes off as comedic. After all, Demon King Diablo is clearly alpha (he leads, intimidates, and is perceived as aggressive) but real Diablo is beta (submissive, meek, and introverted to a fault). I totally get where you think it's toned up, but only because we the readers know his true personality. The rest of the cast? Not a clue.

@TwilightFaze just let me ask one more thing: what about the ones that usually go with beta status, "cucks"? The ones that like to see their women with other males (the 'alpha')? You know, there are lots of people there who like to be on the side when the dominant one is doing its job with the female.

@ShionSinX: You mean the NTR fetishists? That's all I can perceive it as. At least from a commentor point of view. But I'll assume you mean the characters in a manga.

Being on the receiving end, I broke up with an ex because I knew my limitations and she got together with a guy more her speed. They're happily married and live a lifestyle I couldn't tolerate. She was my biggest what-if for years, but to this day I know I made the right decision. On the flip side, a buddy of mine broke up with a girl for the same reason. He's now happily married with two kids and doesn't even remember her anymore (even though he was in love with her for a long time before).
So while it may seem like "cuck" behavior, you gotta really ask yourself if the chemistry was there in the first place. What one could perceive as a "cuck" is another could perceive as something else. As such, I think it's just an excuse by people who get off on NTR or just a way to justify their anger that their ship never sailed.

@SotiCoto: Surprisingly, most folks I talk to are pretty decent, like Shion. My philosophy is I'll treat you how you treat me. Shion was being courteous and informative, so they deserved no less in return. It's just an exchange of opinions. No need to be a dick about it, right? :)

@TwilightFaze : Not sure where you find them then. I could count the number of decent people I've seen here on one hand... while my block-list is probably drawing close to a hundred because I'm just tired of arguments with idiots. It has reached the point where I'm honestly surprised to see a civil discussion in the comments section... at least on certain topics.

Ah.... It's been a long time since I've seen Whitepod's notes. Getting nostalgia.

Sorry to say, the concept of Alpha/Beta/Omega is complete and utter bullsh-t. Both in humans and in animals. The author of the original study on wolves directly retracted his findings, and it frustrates me to know end how this false rhetoric is constantly spread around (especially in the incel communities).

The study was set up poorly and the wolves were very stressed (possibly mixed from different packs?) causing their behavior to be the equivalent of prison gang behavior, with fights for dominance. In reality a wolf pack is all like one big family, sometimes with a central parent figure.
