There's the small plotline in WN that was omitted in LN, regarding the final addition to the harem. When Rutina is first introduced, she's much more indignant and uncooperative than she is portrayed in LN (which is more than understandable, given her circumstances, LN's retconning of it was a meh move, IMO), so Roxanne and Sherry take it upon them to teach her proper behaviour. It happens while Michio is away, so no details are given (then again, there's a well done fanfic from Roxanne's POV where this gap is covered), but the implication is, it was pretty harsh.

As I said, in the WN Rutina doesn't try to hide her feelings about her father being murdered by "that man" (the Duke), and herself being given as spoils of war to the very man instrumental to his demise. It continues for some time, until, one day, The next morning, though, Michio leaves for some shopping to meet the Duke and discuss aftermath of their secret military operation, and returns to see her prostrated on the floor and profusely apologizing for her misconduct. Roxanne and Sherry look quite satisfied by this sudden change, while Miria and Vesta... are scared shitless. Of them, it is assumed.

Roxanne needs to be the main wife, and the other girls need to be concubines for this to actually be a working harem.
It might seem counterintuitive to have a pecking order in a harem, but I’ve played enough Crusaders Kings to realize having multiple lovers who are vying for affection leads to someone getting poisoned.

da hail? i played both ck2 and 3 and i never got wifes/concubines/lovers getting into fights between themselves... i often even have one of them as spymaster and nobody gets randomly kield.
there was only this one korean adventurer(ck3) who i got as a japanese shogun, that had the worst possible character traits, wrathful, drunk, stubborn, irritable. but she was getting into fights with EVERYONE. had a list of rivals 3 times bigger than the lovers list, i managed to get on a immortal character

Hey, what do you mean? I don't understand what Sherry or Roxanne did or what happened. I can't understand what you two are talking about.

Sherry kept questioning Michio's abilities and getting suspicious (before he reveals everything) and Roxanne basically shuts her down and forces her to accept it as being okay because "It's Master". A little of that was retained with her completely lacking confidence with her smithing, because he won't even say he can see the slots (in part because he feels like she won't believe him).

In a typical slave harem, Roxanne would have had a conversation with Sherry herself. But this is not a typical slave harem. Rather, Michio is acting out his fantasy of having a polygamous marriage.

I wish so, but i doubt it, which is sad since a more feisty girl and who is a bit more uncooperative is a nice change of pace to the others who instantly are ok with everything

I think a girl like that would be nice, one that slowly develops to like the MC instead of it being almost instant like all others, but that ending...i don't know how the LN did it, if she just accepts the MC or if her mind breaking is more tame there, still it was very sad tho.

What they did surely wasn't pretty, but a huge portion of blame here is on Michio, who neglected to explain to them (or, should I say, cowardly shirked from responsibility in his typical way) that she's not a regular slave bought through regular channels, but effectively a war prisoner who just lost her FATHER, for God's sake, the very man they all helped to kill, and expecting gratitude and obedience from her immediately would be simply unreasonable. Without that information, they only see her as a spoiled brat, who, if not brought to heel, might potentially be a threat not just for their impossibly idyllic lifestyle they have with Michio, but their lives as well, if her inconsideration leads to Master's secrets accidentally leaking and him becoming pursued. Not pretty, as I said, but it's not that they didn't have their reasons.
