Out of curiosity, anyone knows where the anime ends? (compared to the novel)
I know that (as usual) it's way ahead of the manga and showed a lot more (like right at the beginning, I think the whole harem was showed for a quick scene).
Did the anime skip/condense stuff like other adaptations?
The anime ends right after he gets Sherry. However it does show scenes at the start and end of the season with all the harem members, just as a teaser.
Can't remember the actual series term, but the gems they hold that collect energy from monsters killed, basically soul gems that collect power, and when they change colour they sell for a lot more than the previous tier. I believe they already addressed how their two stones hadn't changed colour yet but his had upgraded to the first tier, and Sherry got suspicious about it, initially.
The wiki refers to them as Magic Crystals. While I think they may have picked a couple up from the guild, they don't really start investigating how they work (and how Michio's abilities affect them) until after they get the next girl (who has good enough eyesight to see them when they pop up in the dungeon).

when they change colour
Ooohh, right right, now I remember it, thank you very much, I totally forgot about that, this anime was the one that made me read mangas, so this is my first one, but after 1 year with 5 pages per chapter and a year reading braindead isekais I totally forgot the details about my beloved (this one)

Sherry's outfit in the cover art reminds of what a masochist would wear

They'd already gone through quite a few crystals, even swapping them around so if a crystal from one of the girls suddenly popped to the next colour he swapped it, by this point in the WN/LN. It was mostly selling charged ones and buying drained ones to recharge, and I think he'd only gotten to the third tier before the third slave?

Ah, yep. I'd forgotten.

Roxanne explains how they work the very first time they start planning to enter the dungeon. That includes the color tiers, and Michio figuring out the Crystallization setting. This is chapter 35-36 in the web novel, or starting in V2C2 of the light novel (first mentioned in part 4, first crystal bought in part 9).

When they picked up the crystal, they were on the 2nd or 3rd floor, and he managed a green crystal by the time they got to the 5th floor, which covered a very short period of time (I didn't re-read to figure out exactly how many days, but it was in chapter 42 of the web novel).

Red, purple, blue, green -- so fourth tier (10,000 nars, or 1 gold). With 32x Cyrstallization, that required about 320 kills, which seems reasonable for 2-3 floors. However he couldn't keep that up very much because he needed the bonus points for Durandel a lot, so that aspect of his build kind of dropped off the radar until quite a bit later (the part that I was most likely remembering).

For calendar approximation purposes, I have estimated that:
April 1: Michio arrives in the world.
April 7-12 (depending on version): Michio gets Roxanne
April ~22: Michio gets Sherry
May ~20: Michio gets the catgirl
Mid-June: Michio gets serious with the magic crystal farming
June ~30: Michio gets the fourth girl

Sounds about right! I didn't remember the specifics, just the general flow of things early on, hah. I actually only found out about who the other girls are because of 'spoilers' in the comments here; There was such a long time between chapters getting translated for awhile there that I stopped even visiting the website of the translators, having finished reading the other series they were hosting that I had been reading, and never went back to re-read it afterwards, lol.

Always found it odd how terrible most of the drops are, considering how much work it takes in a dangerous environment. Imagine venturing to life and death battles for some beesvax :questionblob:
On the other hand, in order to collect that much beeswax outside of a dungeon you'd probably need to ransack a good sized bee's nest and those take months for normal bees to rebuild. Farming 100 units of beeswax in the dungeon means killing 100 glass bees, but collecting that much beeswax outside of the dungeon might drive normal bees locally extinct.

The really strange one was when they needed to hunt monsters for planks instead of just harvesting a tree. I mean I realize they're probably 'magical planks' but still.

I can understand it being garbage, it's not like every mob should drop something good or something at all, since it's a bee their more rarer drop is for sure honey that they will enjoy eating like that time they ate meat.

But one thing that bothers me is that they struggle a LOT for the level they are. MC has 5 classes around lvl 40 or 60 doesn't he? All equipped at the same time, and they are against monsters level TWELVE, he should be one shotting EVERYTHING. I do remember people commenting on previous chapters that the Dungeons are very hard according to thew WN or LN and take years for people to advance 10s of floors, which makes no sense if you compare it to MC level and floor progression.
It was mentioned a while ago that the people of this world don't even realize that classes other than explorer have levels, so while he played around with min-maxing his stats in the beginning it seems apparent that the main thing that class levels provide is new abilities.

Which makes sense if this world's system is more weighted towards gear than stats. In which case it would make sense if it took years to accumulate the gear needed progress especially when gear improvement would be hard RNG for normal people that can't even see skill slots. While slowly accumulating the money to afford good gear people's levels naturally rise but it's indistinguishable from just being more experienced.

It could also be that the power curve on lower classes is just extremely flat and since he's spreading his leveling wide instead of tall he's not not seeing the boosts he should be getting for having a broken as hell system.

That, plus I doubt all classes are equally effective when it comes to combat roles. You typically wouldn't expect... say.. a merchant to have similar combat prowess to a Knight even if the merchant is double or triple the knight's level unless you're running a class system where the levels themselves matter more than the classes.

Anyone got spoilers on the next girl .Hope she's thick like roxanne
She's a bit more fit, but still quite curvy, though in a more realistic/moderate way so I think she's third most stacked after ginormous dragonkin Vesta and huge Roxane.
She's an energetic cat beastkin named Miria, and she's a Pirate!
No, seriously, she got the job cause she caught a fish in church's owned pond (marinal theft),
her "messing" wiith the clergy also made people think she might be cursed now, so even the workers of the slave shop she got sold into for her outrageous lawbreakin, didn't interact much with her. So she wasnt taught brahim, and the team has to relly on Roxane to explain to her everything in beastkin language (I think they might have different dialects but they make do).
Although that also made her reasonably priced, so Michio doesn't mind.
All of that is very IIRC, as I haven't touched the novels in a hot minute, so take it with a grain of kobold's salt
