While I agree he should be thinking of some kind of sustainability when logging, I don't think it's his responsibility to coddle the lumberjacks who aren't even offering their services to him.
If they truly had issue with how he went about his work, they should've stepped up and offered advice from the get-go, not go behind his back and hint to his father that they're angry.
Idiots probably could've gotten a Valkyrie or two of their own out of the exchange.

I'm confused cause at the end of pg 16 Mr. Madoc says "leave the trees to rot and become unusable" but then in pg 17 he says "to use the logs as material for development of the land." So which is it? Did he let the cut trees rot? or did he use it for development?

What is this dudes logic? "Its not fair that you're the only one that gets to ride the highly specialized, expensive magical creature that you put sole work into nurturing and raising on your own with your own money!!!" Like what?

These lumberjacks sound like a bunch of petty children. If Ars can do all of the clearing on his own in a more efficient manor why hire a group of people which would make more of a mess and not know how he wants the land.

Sounds a lot like they are intimated that a child is providing more for the village than their group ever has now or in the past
