So first there is an explosion and the girl is gone. Then they have a ceremony with the girl without mentioning the past incident. Then there is another explosion and girl is gone again. Followed by the key being "stolen" by one faction to implicate the faction that still had their key. Then they blow up the cathedral and find the girls body dead there (likely killed by the explosion, or some knock-off effect).

The timeline is all kinds of jumbled, but I refuse to believe last chapter ended on a cliff only to immediately rewind time.

The writing on this is so all over the place man, there are so many things in plot, world building, characterization that makes zero sense as to why we should care about any of it. It's like we're looking through random cutscenes in a game with no context while mashing "skip"

The first few chapters were rough to follow because they skipped over so much time to set up the main plot but now that we're arriving at the first mystery we don't really understand anyone and as the person above said the timeline is being presented poorly.

So last chapter showed an explosion and said the princess was gone. This chapter ignores that, sets up the principles of a standard locked room mystery, then sets off an explosion in the main building, not the locked room, and says the victim is missing. I didn't even know she left the chapel. Then they say they need to wait for explosives to blow the doors open because magic is too complicated to break doors. And finally they name drop a "Great Detective" and I think that's kind of weird that profession already exists before the MC like it's not exactly a common Isekai trope for medieval worlds to have detectives. It's not a big deal but like isn't the cast already kind of bloated for chapter 6? Do we need to introduce an existing detective?

Sadly the manga is not doing a great job at adapting the novel and it's causing a lot of confusion.

From what I understand they each took turns going to the Award ceremony:

1. 1st was Leo
2. 2nd the MC
3. 3rd was Bob
4. 4th was Kirio

For some reason Leo’s took a bit a while, so the MC suspected something was may have gone wrong while waiting for his turn. Once he was done being awarded, he briefly saw Bob on his way for his turn. Later Kirio returns and meets with MC at his room until the explosion happens at staircase.

Nobody is able to locate the princess in the aftermath and one of the guards’ keys are missing meaning the chapel cannot be opened. The only place they haven’t looked yet is the chapel, but they need explosives to open the door and have to wait until they get them. Once they open the door they find a female body severed at the neck wearing the Princess award ceremony clothing.
