About the "ask turd" section, I thank the translator for translating that big block of text. I'm not sure how much of it was accurate but the part about the ancient Romans having toilets with running water flushing them is true. I learned about it in Latin class. Along with the Roman Aqueducts, they had indoor plumbing and that includes the afore mentioned toilets. Although they were not quite the same as modern ones.

Yea, I'm afraid the "ask turd" section hews scarily close to the truth, possibly excepting the "designated street for pooping", since people would generally dump crap most everywhere.

Local customs varied though, some cities were a lot more disgusting than others (affected by local sentiments about poop and who could touch or handle it).
