what happen with this manga? there's barely any conversation at all
I'm not expecting it to ever get better. Apparently the original WN is even worse.
Not only is it just a bunch of boring narration instead of the readers inferring things from the interaction of characters, but...most of the "information" here is just "everything is fine". There is absolutely no need for so much of the actual writing to tell us no new information, when it's just dryly reporting that in the first place.
How do any of these characters
feel about things? We basically have no idea. Because we don't see them deal with anything. We just see them go "okay" or something in a single panel. And why are they still talking about the rules of an arbitrary game from an event that is over? In a competent story, we would have heard these musings from the characters during the event. Or, they would be introduced when the event comes back around (which I'm sure it will, because the author seems to have no idea what to do except do chapter after chapter of meaningless competitions with no stakes).
Agghhh the wasted potential of this series drives me crazy. At least I can understand why it has so many chapters...they're short, the art is incredibly simple and repetitive (usually simplified/chibi versions of characters, face on, saying one line, with absolutely nothing dynamic occurring), and half the page is covered by narration boxes.
Speaking of short, does LH Translations really need to add
three credit/begging pages for six pages of manga? That's a bit insane, isn't it? There's no reason at all not to just put it all on one credit page. They don't have a great reputation because of things like this.
