Reminds me of the rodeo. Rodeo was already a thing, but it didn't get historically documented a thing until big money got involved, so most places go with their madeup date as the birth of rodeo. But (historical facts) the first rodeo was in Deer Trail, Colorado and goes to this day. Rodeo is pretty damn big in the states and most of those fans and pros wouldn't know this tidbit, but the knowledgeable of them would definitely know the corporatized version. This all got me thinking: will ol'boy take this tournament elsewhere and make bank and be godfathered in time, while village chief might see some short-end dividends? Or, will he be the unconventional type and outwardly give full credit to village chief from the get? 🫤

After living together for that many years, guess the fights between Ru and Tia boiled down to "artist didn't have the energy to draw the battle scenes". :dogkek:
This entire manga has boiled down to "artist didn't have the energy to draw the...scenes"

Seriously the laziest manga I've ever read. Like look at the panels of "so and so lost"; do we see expressions of frustration? Do we even see...expressions? No, we just see the idiomatic shading applied to the back of the heads of the characters, who are all in a copy-pasted pose, in a line. Even between different species, it's just the same thing.

These panels are like...industrialized. Just block out some stock poses, add the simplified "unique feature" of a given character (if they even have one), slap on a narrative rectangle so we don't even have to consider conversational flow, move on.

It's honestly such an insult to the artform.

I understand the sunk cost feeling, like "let's see where this goes since it's been like 300 chapters", but I really don't get the people who respond with enthusiasm. Like one person said "So few pages, so much to comment on." Really? Is there? Really?
