Reminds me of the rodeo. Rodeo was already a thing, but it didn't get historically documented a thing until big money got involved, so most places go with their madeup date as the birth of rodeo. But (historical facts) the first rodeo was in Deer Trail, Colorado and goes to this day. Rodeo is pretty damn big in the states and most of those fans and pros wouldn't know this tidbit, but the knowledgeable of them would definitely know the corporatized version. This all got me thinking: will ol'boy take this tournament elsewhere and make bank and be godfathered in time, while village chief might see some short-end dividends? Or, will he be the unconventional type and outwardly give full credit to village chief from the get? 🫤
