Was re-reading this mango and this was already brought up in the past, when a young male dragon didn't want to marry a yandere stalker like female dragon that didn't give up and pressured him, the other dragons took it as the most natural thing because it was, young dragon that before he was able to udnerstand things she was already there for him.
MC acted as a middleman for the two, made them understand the problem in their relationship, not enough communication, after that they disappeared from the main plot, I don't even remember them appearing in the background of tournaments or festivals.
But he was never really explained the mate instinct before now.

To me, the part that doesn't make sense is that Hakuren and Lasti won't get future dragon soulmates "because they're already married."

Since Hakuren was bitter about being single for so long maybe she wasn't ever going to get a dragon mate, but Lasti isn't that old for a dragon.

Is it actually just a proximity dibs thing? Like it's not fate but literally just whoever is closest to a boy dragon? And once they "get married" cough lose virginity cough their dragon baby radar turns off? Maybe if Lasti wasn't one of MC's wives then she'd be all over Hakuren's son?

The novel didnt really add any details for this part, its pretty much exactly the same but my guess is that either they can still get a "partner" but they just won't cheat since they're dragons orrr them losing their "virginity" just completely stops them from having any future partner. Although im also inclined to believe that they're just oddballs and hiraku might just be their soulmate and they just didn't detect it because hiraku was in a different world.
