Yeah, the anime seems to have skipped a whole lot of the manga. Though perhaps that's a good thing, as the manga tends to let some mini-arcs drag on for way too long.

Yeah, the anime is at least paced for the general public and not the nerdy dolts like me who still like the nitty gritty details.

The only unfortunate thing is that the anime scrapped any form of harem routing even if they tease it in the first season with the elves, angels, etc. it's not like having harem will hurt ratings, and they still keep a number of jokes only adults will understand either.
