I mean...good on him for trying not to use Detect just to remember his roots. Good work conduct right there. He'll probably keep using detect but it's nice to see the MC just not use the cheat skill every so often and do it the old fashioned way. I can respect a man who believes in honest hard work. But dud, I think you forgot an even more important lesson. Work smarter, not harder. Working your hardest means nothing if you don't accomplish your actual goals in a reasonable ammount of time. And 7 plants in what looks to be half a days worth of searching sounds anything but efficient.

I think he did mention in chapter one he liked the 'backstory' of it and what it's used for and such although it would be nice if Klaus could maybe teach him some alchemy too or something to where he 'uses' his items to make potions too rather than just hoarding it all (if not also just collecting ingredients to eat/cook with like that bear man asked of him)

(though he's still willing to sell/part with them too but i imagine he'd probably still hang on to the more 'unique' items like the dragon scale unless the plot requires him to use it)

Take ur time , I’d say finish it, and maybe look up the chapters of the novel versions to see if there’s any differences/contradictions or more clarification if mc says something that the manga doesn’t give us context /brings up something that wasn’t shown in a previously drawn panel

Considering he worked right until night fall, that just feels like another negative. Especially since it's rather common for walled cities to close the gate at, or soon there after it gets dark.

Which brings up another issue. With how the dud has collapsed in the forest, I gotta wonder if the next chapter won't see the MC being attacked by some wild beast or monster.

i imagine he will at first but for other stuff just come across some other things 'on his own' but he'll prolly use the appraisal skill on the 'right' way to collect something like that honey versus experimenting with stuff
