He could always absorb EXP/HP with external touch but not skills. Skills requires internal touch. Doesn't need to be sex either. Previously he absorbed skills from monsters by sticking his hand into them while they're still alive. Though, I'm pretty sure they do need to still be alive when he drains to absorb their skills.
