That's not the issues here, they have every right to be mad.
The issue is how they handled the sniping, in an incredibly poor and childish manner.

This is a great series. I would hate to see it fall apart over drama, especially when that's likely what certain parties want.

Wow. Great job stirring up pointless drama. If someone else did something you're working on, then show them up by making something of higher quality. Don't have a tantrum and start screaming at everyone in sight. Shows how much you actually liked the series, and how much you just liked the attention. That's the whole point. Channel your anger and point it towards the other scanlator! .... Is what this group is hoping to achieve. Basically, stirring up drama against the other scanlator by manipulating chapter starved readers.

Can't blame them though, it works most of the time. Groups love to use this method to stomp down on lesser known scanlators.

I get sniping is bad but, why would you drop because someone else uploaded a chapter? I get snipers are lowlife a**holes that want teams to drop a series (They post a couple chapters then drop it).
Why not just upload regularly without a care about snipers? I think if you keep releasing they'll just get tired?
Why would you want to lose to some a**holes? I thought scanlation is your hobby? Guess it's a business.

Haven't seen any genderswapping and it shouldn't be there if it's not a relevant theme throughout the manga (read that it's just uncle using a spell once or twice but I could be wrong)

I think the harem one is fine since most so-called JP "harem" manga just have many girls/women but few or nonexistent serious romantic involvement. "Harem" in JP manga just means there's more than one girl who likes the MC.
