"A keen sense of hearing" is definitely something I've never heard when people talk about snakes.

So first the author does not understand how fast venomous snakes attack when they bite.
Then he thinks snakes have good hearing for sounds (which is not they case, they have good "hearing" for vibrations like the ground shaking from steps).
And now the MC gets hit by the snake's tail (which is like a giant whip made out of muscle) and does not even suffer any serious injuries even though he is smashed against a tree.
Finally a normal wooden arrow without even a stone tip - let alone a metal tip - can easily penetrate the giant scales of the snake without hindrance and without simply being deflected sideways along the scales.

The author should seriously avoid using snakes as enemies from now on.

Maybe the author hates sneks; that's why he nerfed the sneks in his manga.
Maybe he was bitten by sneks and got fatally injured about too many times throughout his life.

better yet, the author should study up on some flora and fauna like the Gigachad behind Creature Girls and the other works in it's expanded universe. That author has some great survivalism knowledge and and even greater level of autism regarding speculative biology for fantasy creatures.

I dont expect much from the survival part of the story but im getting really bothered by how this dude doesnt reprimand the happy girl. Her survival score is so low that shes a danger to the group. Also after the snake fight, they just go "Lets a go continue our adventure" my ass. Ignoring the plot armor of never inflicted with real injuries, what about exhaustion from the fight? Oh he passed out and he recovered whilst so. Sigh. Im sure the story is primarily written with horny in mind but even that part is not being played that well.

I swear, this better not turn out to be one giant test by the guild. Hate this trope so much.
