Karage is often directly translated to just "fried chicken" because it literally is. While fried chicken can just be: chicken, battered, and fried in oil. Karage is a more distinct variation then just a bucket of fried chicken. But it is not THAT much more complicated or different to need a third party professional chef... to weigh in? (I don't know why he needed the chef.)

I swear the MC just lost a few brain cells here.
The MC was a chef pre-isekai. There is no way he didn't know how to make it.
As for the ingredients:
chicken (check)
egg (check)
starch ( can make from the potato like veggies he has)
seasoning ( up to him what he wants to use)
alcohol (optional to marinade or puff the batter up more like tempora)
bread crumbs ( Does this fantasy setting not have bread?!)

after like a decade of reading i think im done.
it was never smart - now its as retarded as a soros figurehead.
it was never particularly well drawn - now its giving me birdy the mighty flashbacks.
it was never engaging - now its just offputting.

normally i just want the vidya industry to crash and burn in a way more gruesome than the hindenburg. but after the last decade in jap comics i think it should go along for the ride to nihil.

Don't look like flour.. just more like rice? that or poor drawing.
They have some kind of cheap alternative that works as "bread" with no effort to make. Flour is a pain in the ass to produce, especially when nobody has a cost effective use for it. So you end up with a half-ass product because only certain people are buying it and are too afraid to complain because the supplier will go do something else. No clue why he's obsessed with flour instead of an alternative.

What happened to this manga?

This and the previous chapter feel like the writer was replaced with an eight year old. I don't know if it's the translation, but the plot and dialogue have suddenly become so simplistic and lacking thought or sense that it feels like an entirely different manga. I remember when Asuta was always trying to find substitutes for things, experimenting with the local ingredients to see how they can be used in cooking, but now he's just going around asking other people to solve this problem for him while constantly moaning about how much he wants his special Japanese fried chicken. Even the pacing feels weird, like it's skipping from highlight to highlight with nothing in between.

But yeah, it's almost like there's a new author now, because the characters in these recent chapters feel like totally different people.
food changes people, Ai Fa used to eat giba to live, now she lives to eat giba
