my assumption is that they became psychos as a result of overusing the ring probably caused their sanity as well since they completely overused it compared to kuro while kuro's sanity is partly slipping away from him just from using it as a neccessity

I think so too, but I thought they were the "average crazy" before, and all the deaths made them into the "over the top batshit crazy" people they are now
