why would it get axed?

  • it got a few reprints
  • vol4 sold 16k physical copies in the 4 days after it's release (in Japan they buy more digital copies than physical btw)
  • it was 14 on the Next Manga Awards 2024 web category
that's cool, had no idea

I just had strange feeling at that moment
it is always the best stuff that gets axed

Cmon, now you know in fiction that a master of the sword can cut through anything with proper technique. :dogkek:

Side note I hope the witch gets what she deserves and dies without much fanfare, or she unleashes one last trick up her sleeve. I fear they’ll draw it out with a long backstory of some kind.
You see by drawing it from the sheath it becomes a billion times faster and sharper.

Iaijutsu is actually a real thing, but I think the point was training for reacting in sudden unexpected fights rather than the techniques actually improving swing or cutting strength like manga like to portray. It's really hard with something as long as a katana. It's also why wearing a long sword on your back is largely a work of fiction, not enough range of motion to draw it out.

I can't even tell you how satisfying it was to see that grin wiped off of Circe's face, even if it's only for a moment. She really sucks.

How did she cut through adamantite? Isn't she just a "normal" human?
Nerd answer: Assuming adamantite is diamond in this instance, it's very likely she cut it on a cleavage plane in which case it's easy if you can hit it at the right spot. Whether she knew this or did it by intuition (shounen logic) is another story.
Normal answer: It's because she's got super cool anime sword skills.

I mean, we all but know the witch is the sister of the hero-nut queen of the kingdom, so no way is she getting executed without fanfare. And that's IF she's even actually incapacitated now.

I hope that witch gets a cactus insert in a place where the sun doesn't shine before she manages to escape; at least one. For the memories.

Meanwhile Our Samurai does have a longsword and is presently hunting monsters... so you know. Just two months left, just saying! :hearts:

And btw, Thank you for the chapter!!

That's what those attention driven villains fear the most... Oblivion
