Ishida Sui is an example of a "good" troll, he could make you attached to a character, murder them in cruel and interesting ways, tell you to like it with a smile on his face, and you probably would.

Mashima is THE Legend at "bad" trolling, he's like Cartman from Southpark in the episode Scott Tenorman must die, your mental state will most likely be a weird mix of disgust, fascination, and boredom.

Well, considering there's not much story and plot, I guess it's one of it's few hooks to keep readers around. Maybe.
Although this MC is supposed to be super cool and strong, the author needs to learn how to introduce his MC like the Solo Leveling MC(no harem, but author did a good job of expressing how OP his character is) or One Punch Man.
