"I cannot stand someone who treats life and death like a game!!!"
Oh fuck off girl, are you going to tell the guy he should have just died from an illness? What a fucking stupid reason to be mad.

No, don't get mad he is using other people's souls like objects, no, get mad he didn't want to die.

What a fucking stupid argument.

Yeah I don't get this argument at all. That's one of the reasons I love/hate The Faraway Paladin.
The central conflict is between two gods of death who have different philosophies on what is more desirable:
1. To struggle against death at all costs and to risk stagnation because you desperately cling to your life.
2. To let go and be guided to rebirth by the lamplight.
The story gives good examples on why neither choice is obviously better.

Unfortunately Stagnate is ultimately portrayed as unsympathetic, a crying shame because this story would have been far more interesting without an antagonist.
It is also the only fantasy story I know of where "undead" are moved by their own willpower, I just hate that they are mostly portrayed as simple minded zombies.

To be fair the antagonist has been portrayed as simpatetic and an ally on some situations.
And also it has NEVER been called evil.

Well of course not, its a bit more nuanced.
But you can definitely see the authors endorsement of "natural" death shine through.

Invoking Stagnate is portrayed as a kind of "deal with the devil" scenario where people have to give up their humanity in order to become undying.
The story only contains 3 people portrayed as rational and stable after the transition and those didn't even want to become undead in the first place.
It just feels so frustrating to be in the minority on this divide, as I am firmly in camp Stagnate.

You seem interested in this topic, so I'll recommend watching or reading the The Fable of the dragon Tyrant.
Do you have any Story/Manga recommendations for me?

Well yeah but that's because that's whot he protagonist of the story is, of course the Paladin POV is him believing he is in the right, that is literally the point of his Paladin oath.

Like im sure if the POV was different, the reincarnation god of death would seem more in the wrong.
Also to be fair the Undead god is a little childish.
