The way she handled the guard reminded me of those typical situations where a girl acts all cutesy for freebies at a store that happens so frequently in manga. I think she’s just acting like herself, just putting on an act. The whole bread thing doesn’t surprise me much, I mean we don’t know how these skills are inputted in her mind, maybe the actually taste was imprinted in her head. Of course then that’ll go into the cost of it being far cheaper than she said, I guess we’ll see. Though I’m fairly certain she isn’t a returnee, or at least as far as I know it’s never mentioned in the novel.

The cheap food isnt amazing and tasty just because its a fantasy world? This manga is already better than most

The presence of three separate beds is quite the luxury. Inns used to commonly offer a single bed for everyone, since they could keep warm without burning expensive wood.

Careful of that bread. Some millstones were not of good material, and introduced sand into flour. Maybe the baker would sift it out . . . maybe not.

The food scene reminds me of the Restaurant in Another World manga (the one with the doors that appear every Saturday). People coming in express amazement about certain things that caught me attention:

• Good oil that hasn't been used over and over.
• Beef that came from an animal that didn't live in front of a plow.
• Clean water
• Pepper (or spices)

The situation shown here expresses the opposite, which is a bit refreshing.
