Yeah, sure, the rest of the chapter is also a clusterfuck but THAT was just absolutely retarded. It's actually pretty damn hard to burn down a sailing ship. The sails and pretty much the only thing on board that'll readily catch fire, if only because you can't treat the material without making it too heavy. Everything else, including rope, is treated against, you guessed it, fire. The hull itself is actually really, REALLY hard to damage with fire because it is naturally treated with sea-salt.
