Most isekais are power fantasies self insert of the author sadly. I fully expect the protagonist to do something to steal the spotlight and save absolutely everyone even if he's a complete newbie with no experience whatsoever.
It's also true for other genres. But isekai tend to standout much more because the power fantasies is more flashy than lucky perverts.

Both of you have some poits, but forget it's a pack and charging at something that one shots them all ends the pack. Maybe for us it would be "courageous", but instinctively one close to death member isn't worth sacrifice of an entire pack.

Know this, because prejudiced farmers still tend to set the snares whenever their livestock gets hurt, trapping one wolf and the pack doesn't even try to somehow rescue their kin or sustain with food, they bail out of the area because it's not worth it.
They didn't know it can one-hit them that easily, as can be seen by how they retreated the moment that was made clear. Before that, it had merely reached the tipping point as an enemy so dangerous to the rest of the pack (kids etc.) that it's worth it even if they all die taking it down then and there. Then after that one swipe it was understood they are better off running and moving territory, or something.

Everyone's mentioning the wolves but no one has pointed out that fucking shield.

Why is it so goddamn big? My dude has a shield bigger than his whole body!

Well, there's one sticking out of tiger-wolf maw, already on the run before mc noticed them so can assume strength disproportion was already known.

It's just tiny slip up, but had to show the strength of a new enemy somehow, so, eh...

I'm caught up with the translation of novel and that never really happens. I mean he has tough fights but doesn't really go op he's not really interested in that

well, that was disappointing for a veteran party. All that and they could only hit it once

anw, tks for the chapter
Tiger wolf are insane to deal with 1 of them is tougher then a sub boss and almost as tough as a dungeon boss not only are they stronger and much faster but they have a level of intelligence when hunting

At least this one wasnt about cooking
There is a lot of cooking forced on him in future which is a pain my annoyance is with authors forcing things in such as bathing obsession, rice, soy sauce. Then go on this what they make seem like serious quest with goal of making x food

I'm kinda puzzled why would the wolf pack attempt to rescue their kin if it's already stuck in the tiger-wolf maw, it's giving them bit too much sentience.

If it was to show the tiger-wolf strength, they might run into a cliff side and then choose to counter attack.
This one time on NatGeo or old Discovery (before it turned into modern MTV) it showed a massive horde of buffalo that were being hunted by a pack of lions. The lions managed to take down one buffalo and were slowly biting and killing it and the ENTIRE MOTHERFUCKING HORDE TURNED THE FUCK AROUND WITH A COUPLE ELDERS IN THE FRONT AND THEY CHARGED THE FUCKING LIONSHIT OUT OF THOSE FUCKING LIONS LIKE NO TOMORROW IT WAS THE MOST GLORIOUS EPIC THING EVER WITH THOUSANDS OF BUFFALOS BUMRUSHING THOSE LION ASS MOTHERFUCKERS you truly missing out on this memory homie

Might be that they had greater numbers.

Might've been, it was like if hundreds of bunnies went to fuck up the fox den and overthrow the predators. Those elders or whatever that were up front stopped running and turned around, then the horde rallied behind them and then they started galloping and I can't believe this wasn't featured in Avengers Endgame, this was way way cooler since it was real life.

It's not that rare for animals to gang up on predators, but it's generally mothers, closer 'family' units, smaller crowds of the herd or whatever, this went beyond like I've never seen. I also won't ever find it again since it's part of some hour-long episode of whatever dis/natgeo docu or docu-show I watched over 15 years ago.

iirc aren't wolves actually quite solidaric? Where if a prey shows themselves capable to hurt the pack, they will abort on behalf of retaining the integrity of the pack, as opposed to selfish desire for food at any cost using wave-tactics. And if there's a predator that shows itself capable and wanting to hurt the pack, they gang up to take revenge to ensure it doesn't continue until the pack has been whittled to extinction. Even if that means additionally sacrificing their own life to ensure the kill. It is also why a starving pack is so much more dangerous, as they will start punching up when hunting and no longer abort just because they risk losing a member or two.

Standard social pack-animal behaviour, even seen in humans. It is why we have those stupid lizard-brain things that makes it possible to induce us to throw our lives away in war for "the homeland", or other such situations (some gunman threatens your family? Lizard-brain might kick in and have you sac your own life to disarm or kill them).
More or less correct on the pack behavior! Although people do go to war "for your homeland" specially when it's invaded! But you give your life for the person standing next to you! You give your life for your brother in arms!

Yes, that's what I said. Evolutionary hold-over (aka 'lizard-brain') that's being exploited by politically powerful people
