Like others here, I am hoping that this series soon deviates acutely from the novel.

I don't mind getting spoiled, could anyone say why people want the series to deviate from the novel? I imagine because the novel is bad, but I am wondering what happens in the novel to make it bad. Has the story stuck with the novel pretty 1 to 1 so far?

Oh the standard isekai trope with loli waifu, Sora leaving both Chris and Rurika and doing other things. The "fart cloud" isn't in the novel if I remember correctly.

One thing not shown to readers is that Sora also has a skill called 'Plot-armor' which activates when he is not walking.

I would argue that this is great proof that the MC does NOT have plot armor.
He took one hit and instantly got boddied and mortally wounded.
Unlike other MC´s with actual plot armor that just shrug of mortal wounds with the power of friendship.

The fact healing abilities exists was already established.
And this chapter would have not changed a single bit if they just said the healer of the other party was better at his job instead of getting helped from the fluff ball spirit.

I think some people say plot armor here simply because he didn't die, since in a nutshell plot armor is "X won't die because Y." where Y is a foregone conclusion. In this case "Sora won't die because his main skill is the title of the work." so no matter what happens he will survive, albeit not necessarily unscathed.

In Mushoku Tensei, Rudeus got stabbed right in the chest all the way on the outside, sure it traumatised Eris to... traumatize Rudeus some time after, but was healed immediately./ISPOILER] This time, don't think it mc will walk this out that easily...

from what i read in spoiler comments up to now, novel got gloomy with MC getting paranoid because of kingdom spy always making [presence detection] ringing + [parallel thinking] splitting his brain lobes

I did notice Chris had been looking at the spirit multiple times in past chapters so I figured she could at least see something there.

Also, for a moment I thought the spirit had sacrificed itself to save Sora. Good thing that wasn't the case.
