It's both advantegous and not. On one hand he can use this to disseminate knowledge more widely, since it basically invites people to challenge it. On the other, the general sentiment will be that it's untested, so there should be serious opposition against teaching it to students and even more, practising on actual patients until there's ways of confirming it. I would expect that would take a lot of time.
