This kid is having some drastic effects on the market. Nothing a dictator can't smooth over I guess...

That is fucking stupid way of doing things, well if anything discriminating against female pharmacists. You'd think they'd want more qualified people. This forces the women to chose between continuing their lineage or career. What if she was a godly pharmacist? Generally parents do pass on skills in their genes in one form or another.

Glad it was pointed out and fixed that his low low prices would fuck up the market and same with banning the use of heavy metals in body care products

Just wanna say that in China, abuse of maternity leave and welfare has gotten so bad to the point that women are actively discriminated against when hiring.

This also has the consequence of women who legitimately wanting to work, being unable to find jobs easily, and the jobs available don't include maternity leave as part of the hiring package.

Aww no! NO!
Why are they covering up that girl's freckles?! She said she wanted to look prettier, but she looks best without that crap covering up her best feature!

(Also if they're selling out of the cosmetics by selling to commoners as well as aristocrats, I wouldn't be surprised if some savvy opportunists are going about buying them up in bulk to resell at a higher price when the shop has ran out. Same as people do with concert tickets in this world.)

Wow, that's such a bad system... Go through years of extra education to become a pharmacist, only to be permanently locked out of a job once you give birth once. Maybe justified in-universe if there was an expectation that "being a mother" is their fulltime job now... But from what it sounds like there isn't even any stipulation for what happens if the kid dies in this high mortality world.
