"If you are successful, this could potentially provide a swift end to this war."
Chances are going down if you keep talking like that.

"You didn't have to bring Ushi-nii's name into it."
You brought up your own status, got outplayed, and now you're whining about it.

Three arrows is generally a bad idea, but above and shooting a short distance down is one way to get around the main flaw.

For a trap that relies on them being exactly there, it's way too random, unless that's an obvious ambush spot. There's no way to predict that without inside knowledge. Double so for the bridge.

So convenient. This manga is starting to read like a Harry Potter book with the by the numbers "Hero's Journey".

A bit disappointed, they nerfed the stone waifu in such a lame way. Would really hate it if she gets captured.

thanks for the TL

I'm surprised such a cliffhanger wasn't put at the end of the volume.

Saw that trap coming a mile away.

That brother is playing the fool to save their lives. He can't argue seriously without revealing what he's doing.

They went in with too many people in any case. They lack the mobility to break a trap like that, and their officers are too high value for a traditional raid. Making a mobile stone bunker would still work in a forest, but they wouldn't be able to fit everyone in there. You need to be committed to killing the ambush leader and letting the hostages escape on their own.

Reinforcing the bridge to resist the trap would've needed foresight, so thats out.

They just lost too many advantages showing off the stone powers early.

What? They just got wiped out. It's not tragic at all. It's just funny how out of place all of this feels and how perfect their entire ambush plan went. FMC almost entire lost her powers because.. trees! lol.

This was a terrible chapter.

Ok, but why not reveal what he's doing? It makes no sense for him not to reveal the trap if he saw it coming unless he was a traitor, which ALSO doesn't make sense, because in that case why even try to subtly alert them to the trap? He's too wishy-washy for me to make sense of.

Im sure theres some convoluted plot. Like the most popular brother is the real traitor so hes dead if he plays things poorly

Or he IS a traitor, but he's screwing things up at the last moment to reduce the number of deaths without getting caught.

Agreed. After all, general was totally correct that suddenly changing plans right before battle is recipe for chaos, with lives of hostages on the line it's even more dangerous and they shouldn't change plans without good reason, so what was the point of playing fool with that advice if it wouldn't work anyway?

I guess maybe it's to convince them later to listen to any dumb idea of his just in case, since he turned out to be right in this case?
