I've been reading manga a lot more and I've found that one of my favorite tropes are a bit hard to find. Everything in the list aren't exactly all the same but I'll explain the parts I like and I'd love to hear recommendations of at least vaguely similar manga!.....maybe it would be better to say Slice of Life: War/Tactics Edition or I like smart people talk and mind games? It's a really confusing ask which is why I included a bunch of past manga read in hopes it'll help narrow down the "feel"?

Reincarnated Into a Game as the Hero’s Friend: Running the Kingdom Behind the Scenes
Love the scenes juggling nobility, the ongoing war against the demons, and all the little logistics that go on behind the scenes of outright battle.
+Nobility
+Logistics
+War

Romélia War Chronicle: The Count's Daughter Rallies an Army in the Wake of Mankind's Victory
I like the part where she focuses on tactics and post-war problems especially with threats still roaming. Especially since she is not overly OP.
+Logistics
+War

Noble Reincarnation: Born Blessed, So I'll Obtain Ultimate Power
The MC here is overly OP, but I like the mind games and social interactions and other logistics that go into governing a fantasy country even if it isn't exactly military focused
+Nobility
+Logistics

When I Reincarnated I Was a Soldier?! ~A Man Called the Red Shinigami~
Getting the behind the scenes and nitty-gritty details of war and rebellion, along with interacting with nobles and promotions and stuff.
+Nobility
+War

A Tale of a Small Town hardship in Sengoku Era - An Agriculture Comic
Nowadays there' a lot more war and battle tactics, but it has the interacting with other people with focus on both battle and country logistics.
+Logistics
+War

Edit {
Historie
Another enjoyable one, A story about the life of Eumenes with War, Intrigue, Intelligence, etc.
+War
+Nobility
+Logistics

The Rising Of The Commoner-origin Officer: Beat Up All The Incompetent Noble Superiors!
This and the previously stated Reincarnated Into a Game as the Hero’s Friend: Running the Kingdom Behind the Scenes have exactly what I'm looking for.....hmmm both are reincarnation and magic ..... maybe the tags I'm looking for is Reincarnation, Military, Fantasy...will do more research.
}

Things I know but I don't particularly think or idk if they fit:
Shoukoku no Altair
Seems like it has war, tactics, etc. but idk about that daily life feel?

The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen Who Will Become the Source of Tragedy Will Devote Herself for the Sake of the People
This is much less of a fit, but I did like ch 6-8 when she focused on ways to save her men
+Nobility

Crimson Karma (manhwa)
It was good in the beginning, but since it is a Romance Manhwa, it started going sideways towards the middle-end.
-Romance Focus

Knights & Magic
Yeah It's military based, but the focus is on the fight and making robots and less about army movement, logistics, etc.
-Too Much ROBOTS!

Genderswapped Medic's Battlefield Diary
Yes War and yes tactics but I feel like she spent more time getting yelled at by her commanding officer or fighting than any slice of (war) life.
-Too Much SURVIVE!

A Chef of Nobunaga
Yes war and yes logistics, but not really the kind I'm looking for? and also way too much focus on food (which makes sense)
-Food Food Food

Slice of Life: War/Tactics Edition
You're making it even more confusing since by definition, I don't think you can put these two together side-by-side.
So you want war or not?

What I surmise is that you want a story following someone living in the real battlefield.

I'll just put random things that I liked
(well, seems like some of it got purged)
Gunka no Baltzar
Issak
Musket Girls
The Saga of Tanya the Evil
Otome Sensou
The Bugle Call
Groundless
Romelia Senki
Kingdom
Orcsen Oukokushi

idk if this is exactly what you're asking for, but maybe How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom?
I think I gave up around chapter 20, but I'll give it another go around. I think I got bogged down by the budding Harem.

I guess I meant more Slice of life (on the characters end) like what's considered everyday life for the character not for us, like less time skipping straight to battles or one battle after another with barely any pause, but more focus on the strategy meetings, working with/around nobles and territory issues, funding, training, figuring out logistics? Manga with more detailed war?
Thank you for all your recommendations:

Gunka no Baltzar - Never got around to finishing and I forgot the entire plot, will try again

Issak - Never heard of it, but sounds interesting? The summary kind of gives Hengoku no Schwester vibes even tho it's not alike at all.

Musket Girls - The summary sounds exactly what I'm looking for. Hopefully doesn't devolve into running around to battles with little to no training development or logistics talk....or overly affectionate females.

The Saga of Tanya the Evil - One of my favorites, but again besides the training
developing the 203rd Aerial Mage Battalion
it suffers from just following orders and battle after battle tho the little future bits are interesting.

Otome Sensou - I read this, but it was when I was younger and I got weirded out when she was
chastised for being distracted from war due to meeting someone or something like that I just felt it was mean

The Bugle Call - Not too sure about this one, the emphasis on music makes me think it'll be a War X Music sort of focus, but i'll try a couple chapters.

Groundless - I actually read it all...it was ok, but I'm not sure what made it just ok rather than great? I did like the portions of training and the group discussing how to attack and stuff.

Romelia Senki - Already listed in original post, I liked it but sad there aren't a lot of chapters. I enjoy how she runs into issues with other nobles/officials and how she works around it.

Kingdom - I think this ran into the same issue as Historie (btw another one for the list that I forgot to add, will add now) that the art style just really threw me off but with the added evil people are ugly and a lot of shounen protag energy.

Orcsen Oukokushi - Will also check out, looks like it has potential and matches what I want especially since adaptions are usually better polished, but the lack of chapters has me worried.

can't say I disagree with any of your take there
yep
pretty much there with you

I don't remember Hengoku no Schwester, but the chapters are marked read, so I must've read it at some point.
Tho, Issak is more about one man revenge journey, but since the target is on the enemy's army, he needs to join the war. Not much story about logistic I can remember, but many tactics and negotiations.

The music in Bulge Call is just a one gimmick on one of the super power
It's really not about music. Don't trust the tag.

Lol, Hengoku no Schwester is also a one woman revenge journey,
but since the target is in the church, she needs to act perfectly to get closer to her enemy. DIfference is she was forced into the church first and it's more like she's resisting brainwashing and traps rather than war. Yeah also not really about logistics, but a lot more of intrigue and sneaking around.
It's definitely not a late night read from how realistic the gore is.

https://mangadex.org/titles?include...&translatedLang=en&onlyAvailableChapters=true This is what shows up when you combine the two tags but not sure if what you're looking for lol
Yah suprisingly a lot of the manga I enjoyed that are kinda what I want show up which I wasn't expecting. I do recommend now that when you search for manga in advanced search to disable the "Has translated chapters" checkmark due to the purge removing a lot of manga's chapters.

Overlord
The Frontier Lord Begins with Zero Subjects: Tales of Blue Dias and the Onikin Alna
Vinland Saga
A Tale of a Small Town hardship in Sengoku Era - An Agriculture Comic

I did read all of Apocalypse Bringer Mynoghra: World Conquest Starts with the Civilization of Ruin....It's taking longer to update now that I think it's caught up...or the scan team is busy which is sad cause we are in a really interesting arc right now.

hmmmm I will check out Mitsuba Monogatari, thank you for the recommendation

Maoyu might scratch that itch? It hops around being fantasy but a lot of the plot and conflict revolves around countries' technological and economical developments with a war between humans and demons as a backdrop.

Quick summary of like half of chapter 1: Hero ends up at Demon Queen's castle, she says "hey let's talk" he says "fine" and she gives him literal handouts showing that the current war is propping up various countries and should it end, would result in even worse wars erupting, and she asks him to join her in ending the war in a manner that won't result in ruin.

Honestly through the first volume I cracked wise to my friends about it being someone's thesis on economics turned into a romantic comedy.

I read it till the romance got too much. It is a good recommendation though! I just get tired of the fawning blushing women that always end up popping up. That's why I enjoyed Noble Reincarnation: Born Blessed, So I'll Obtain Ultimate Power because rather than a focus, when "affectionate gazes" do pop up it's always for a page or two and it's more loyalty to a great leader. Even the marriage partner acts with manners.

What, you don't like all-women bath scenes clearly written by someone who's never heard two women talk, let alone six?

nahhhh, while I ended up liking it overall, the parts where it was pretty clear it is not the author's strong suit (being any of the romance) did drag so I get it. But I thought the rest of it was worth the drag, especially when the merchant's alliance starts getting their fingers in everything. There was always something that had me going "alright, fine, let's keep going."

Good luck on finding your itch scratcher. I read pretty much apparently only romcom and ended up finding this thread when I accidentally clicked on "what's new" and I finished maoyu like, two weeks ago, which is the only thing I've read with so much overarching war/logistics focus and I actually liked it a lot.

Maybe I should check some of these other recs out, too...

Lol, I guess I also like the mangas I listed because they really commit to the topic, there's no whishy washy jump to the next battle or get distracted by bouncing buxom bosoms. You get the full giant wall of text going into detail on politics or research that makes scan teams cry. I do also enjoy romcom, but only when I want to be reading romcom. Nothing makes me sadder than finding a fascinating plot and expecting great world building but we end up spending more time with our face being shoved into voluptuous (or flat-chested) women.

I might give Mayou another try, it sounds like there are merchant alliance economic coups and other political stuff later in the story and that sounds interesting.

Yeah, a lot of good recs so far. I've been shuffling through my manga list (I did that stupid thing where you just write down the titles in a doc and no additional info so I've been having to google everything). When I find stuff that fits I re-edit the original post, maybe that'll dig up hidden rhodium that I haven't found. The first 5 that I listed I've already read multiple times and are the ones I felt really got you immersed with the world without jumpy arc changes and topic pacing (if that makes sense? I'm not sure how else to say it.) (something I think Apocalypse Bringer Mynoghra: World Conquest Starts with the Civilization of Ruin suffers from)
