oh you're right
it doesn't have the Japanese sword hand guard (what is it called? tsuka?)
Yes, they’re called “Tsuka”.

I wonder how that dress is staying up. Sheer will? Although not her will; she doesn't care.

He's lucky. He got a personal knee to the face rather than a rock. Though in her case I'm not sure it's a significant difference.

"Your opponents are them."
What opponents? They just fall down...

That's not a sword. It's a plank of metal.

So they're that afraid they're using poison.

"No matter how strong she is, it's still only one woman."
Good way to underestimate her.

Is he smiling at the view?

Yep, he's s sneaky bastard.

And that's the problem with hostages. If they get released or killed, people don't have anything holding them back anymore.

I’m pretty sure that dude’s skull got crushed in. A midair Facebreaker Knee Smash by Yachiho the Stone Woman, with that super speed, would seriously hurt like hell.

I think it’s been implied that Yachiho takes advantage of her hardened skin to ensure her physical attacks are all devastating. Any humans she hits with those attacks you never see again…

I mean, that's probably the fate of all of them. Or rather, should be, considering the forces involved. A surprising amount of manga believes that blunt force is non-lethal force. Unless plot.
Or my favorite, “Kiryu NEVER Killed Anyone”.

I’d believe you Nagoshi if Heat Moves didn’t look like fatalities. I’m reminded a certain mid boss miraculously survived getting ran over by an 18 wheeler…

Feel like that's a thing with action stuff in general. It's funny how it combines with maturity ratings.

Like in some mature media explosions and blunt force are basically useless because damage only "counts" if you can see someone get ripped or sliced apart.

Meanwhile in a lot of kids media bare hands, blunt weapons, and shit like lassos are way more useful than guns and blades because you can actually do meaningful damage with them.
