I know it’s easy to write this stuff off as sasuga kei, but that insecurity can legitimately fuck up your mind and reduce you to a shell of who you should be. I don’t condone it, but would be lying if I said I’d never experienced it myself.

You gotta remember that romance is forbidden in the share house. If she calls him her boyfriend, even to her friends, there's a chance it gets back to the other girls in the share house. Now, obviously her friends know she likes him, and suspect/know that something is going on, but as long as Lili never says anything herself, she can maintain plausible deniability.

Honestly he needs to find his own place and just openly date Lili, but that'll never happen because then we would lose the harem and drama.
