It's sad that she's probably only for development arc.
Recently, I learned that there's a word for this trope: ateuma.
It's the romantic side-character that exists purely to suffer for the sake of the MC, so that they can get some character development.
Apparently it's quite the niche otaku slang, since googling it will mostly lead to japanese links or a particular hentai anime.

Fuck this shit. This is Sasuga's payback for everyone who talked shit to her about the ending of Domestic Girlfriend. Everyone one of the heroines is going to fuck some dude to get over their heartbreak. In the end MC will only have used goods to pick from.
this feels 100% on brand with sasuga kei writing style, like how this happened in the end ... was like, goddammit so we reached her style 100% with this, not just domestic girlfriend but GE Good ending too.

didn't knew it had a name, and 100% for sure is a trope used by some author, like ffs it feels like the childhood friend that always loses uses that trope most of the time, like we started to get some series going against this because it was being used so much. (a series with the literal name of "the story where the childhood friend wins" ...and then author just went f*ck it, and every girl was actually a childhood friend)
