This is the only way I know how to live
For what it's worth, I should probably note that this line was my choice as the translator to give the sentence an idiomatic reading in English, so don't over-read into it. What she says is:
こんな 風にしか 生きられん 人間なんよ…
Konna fū ni shika ikiraren ningen nan yo…
A more literal translation would be "except in this kind of manner a person like me cannot live". I went back and forth on this a bit because I wasn't sure if omitting her reference to "a person like me" was meaningfully detracting from the emotional impact of the statement. You could read an implied context of "I'm defective and I know it" into this statement that might be lost in my rendering. But ultimately, I settled on the line I felt worked better in English.
