Wow, so many comments about the author. Never read Domestic Girlfriend so I'm not in the know, but I think a lot of people here are perhaps going through personal relationship troubles and woes and don't like the drama and realism this manga of Sasuga Kei's is depicting. If you came into this manga wanting a harem experience like the dime of dozens in the 2000s and 2010s, where you're bordering into unhealthy perversions of underage women/girls, then this isn't for you. But if you like complicated people, backstories that feel like real characters and not cardboard cutouts, and a drama that has you guessing the endgame, then this is definitely for you. Yeah, there are tropes, but it's not unreadable. I like a lot of authors, but Sasuga Kei ever since GE - Good Ending has been one of my favorite romance/drama authors. This group of women is probably my favorite, as each of them is interesting in their own way and every one had their moment to breathe. I love the statement Hiromi made in the chapters recently! Very much something readers should think about when pursuing romance with someone. In short, I love this manga so far and I'm looking to get crushed, lifted, and excited to find the endgame.

1) Author is a woman with typical female fetish that is counter to her male oriented audience - Cheating, manipulation, over the top drama, sexual violence.
1.1 Believe it or not but the most perverted gender is female. While men are surface level perverts who think about sex a lot more, women are deep perverts. This is a vast generalization but it holds truth in majority of cases.
Most men are far more conservative in fetishism and degrees of fetishsm is different. Men dislike cheating in general, they are more accepting to cheat (obviously it's typical of human nature) but THE VASTEST MAJORITY OF FETISHIST IN CUCKING, NTR, PSYCHOPATHS(I.e. usually accompanied by forced sex fetish) ARE WOMEN.
1.2 By the means of 1.1(and 1) Author uses those things to spice up her work. It's okay to dislike like and it's ok to like it.

2) Your reference about drama and realism just tells me how immature you are and most of your experience comes from media.
My most dramatic relationship doesn't even come close to authors work and it was during my teen years. (And i don't come from from a safe family friendly environment)
Author depicts unreal stupid men, women any man would despise and etc.
Even in my teen years i had more backbone than most MMC in authors work and i'm not MANLY MACHO MEN and in my teen years i was a liberal by heart and nature.
I girl cheats on me? GTFO. I like 2 women? I disappear from the life of one i least expect to have future with. Author creates guys with a female mindset. Which creates ultra dramatic situations. Though as expected her portrayal of women is spot on (if not too over dramatic, it's like compilation of woman men hate).

3) Your reference that people like harem is invalid. Most of the people especially in the "west" dislike this genre and most harems are rated worse than beautiful monogamous works.

4) As someone commented here, after work or any other thing i come and read manga, books and novels for escapism from reality. I sometimes dabble in drama, but drama isn't why i'm reading it i read it because some great works sadly put drama in.
I have enough problems in this life, i don't want my escapism to be more dramatic than real life especially when i cannot relate with weak willed MMC. As an example: Subscribing to cuck like behaviour, accepting back cheaters, accepting disrespect from your partner, complying with unreasonable requests.
If you like drama it means you are in a rut. You need to change your life and go do something new, you have a problem, you seek hurtful entertainment to feel "alive".

5) Harems are toxic, especially Japanese made harems are toxic. If you have many girls you freaking know that out 5 only 1 will feel happy while other are left with heartache. In real life you VERY RARELY have harem like situations. At most you have love triangles and it is when a guy is a fuckboy or indecisive little shit.

Lastly ALL OF THE harem members have major cons and pro's. There isn't a perfect mixture, some have more cons some have less. Best options are 24 and 27 year olds BUT EVEN THEN the 27y old is like his EX, 24y old has a lot of baggage. 20y old is still young and doesn't know what she wants. 19y old isn't even an option worth considering the most immature one (and i mean between 19 and 20 is major maturity fissure). 31y old is like cuck fantasy, she is independent and will not consider changing her lifestyle for a guy. At the same time i can provide the positives for every girl but 24 and 27 are the most positive and honestly those options suck at the very least because 27y will be like his previous EX. And 24y is damaged person who needs some therapy before going into relationship.
