I'm conflicted, I'm happy he isn't NTR bait but at the same time you sometimes gotta know when to fold them. If you liked a girl and you had a whole childhood with her and never asked her out, asking her out the exact moment she's taken is a dick move regardless of intent. Sometimes you miss out on shit, you learn and grow from it and don't let it happen next time. I'm so used to manga's rewarding that, the childhood friend finds a boyfriend, it looks like she really like the boyfriend but then the friend comes in and asks her out and he "wins" the girl. fuck that.
