@UnknownSaint111 The Japanese have a literary tradition of grooming. In Genji Monogatari (the original novel published sometime before 1021 AD written by a Heian court lady, Murasaki Shikibu) Genji raises a girl to be his ideal bride. Not saying I agree with it but there is strong precedent and I can see why it would happen in Japanese literature.

Can’t believe this crap.... so done with Japanese authors writing about MC’s raising a child as their own only for the child to become their “lover” later on. Sheesh! Can’t we have a normal and innocent adoptive parent and adopted child relationship without it turning romantic? Damn, I guess that’s too much to ask for.
