How is this a betrayal? They barely even know each other, she has no obligation to risk her own life to save his. Would you sacrifice yourself for a stranger? I don't think so.
The MC is annoying for a lot of reasons but this is definitely not one of them. It's what I would have done LOL.

@nivinator Bro I have no idea what I was smoking months ago. Probably thought of it as one since she saved his ass before. I was put off by the fact that she only saved him when it's convenient for her.
But yeah this was all before I knew that the effect of situational variables prevails over intrinsic traits when it comes to helping others. So I can totally get where she's coming from now, Although I still wish she wouldn't have done what everyone else would have done. These are the inherent expectations of a fantasy reader....
