It's kind of funny how she was such a stickler about rules (up until Patty pleaded), considering the options are:
1) Look for some ruins
2) Subjugate a nest of creatures which are apparently already a threat big enough to warrant half of the guild, but also reproduce at "dramatic" speeds according to the previous chapter

On the one hand, you've got a dormant thing that's just sitting there. On the other hand you've got an active threat that will only become harder to deal with as time passes, but is currently manageable with guild resources. But we have to look for the ruins!! It's the rules!!

More like, she's a lazy ass that doesn't want to get involved in such things, because she said it herself that the guild needs a large-scale operation to fight the bugs, which means more work for her, since she needs to prepare lots of things, and that's a huge no-no.

Kinda surprised someone with zero leadership, lack of the ability to make quick decisions, and also a lazy bum like her managed to get to high position in the guild, TBH...

Lawful Stupid. Just to create some conflict. That was all the point. Which is sad when authors look for the beats they want rather than what makes sense for the story and characters.

What a waste of a chapter that only made the giild leader look incompetent and idiotic. If someone is paying for services of a GUILD and cant cause ruins but tye request is to stop dangerous monsters from multiplying risking said forest ruins are hidden in is just very wow level stupud to deny.
